Music is played, noise in the street, you feel old and/or tired and hardly speak your interlocutor's language...
What percentage of speech are you able to understand?
Parametric models assess intelligibility when speech is masked by noise (SII), or when speech is distorted acoustically (STI).
However, mechanisms of speech perception are not well understood. Associating our work with cognitive related scientists (neuropsychologists, audiologists …), we are looking forward enhancing the knowledge of human speech perception.

Methods for Intelligibility and Speech Quality -
Study of the relationship between quality and intelligibility perceived by humans. This link is poorly quantified, though it is stated (Gabrielson and Sjoren (1979)) that intelligibility is undoubtedly a major component in quality perception.
