Privacy-Preserving Smart Spaces
Motivation & Project Description
Protecting privacy of individuals is one of the most important and most difficult challenges of our information society. Difficulty and complexity requires diverse approaches tackling different aspects of the issue such as users, infrastructure, and services.
Today, even individuals with information security knowledge face with privacy related threats. Smart grids, smart home and office environments, digital cities, intelligent transport systems, smart health assistance, social networking, geo-located applications and many more profitable new services are taking their places in our society with very short innovation cycles.
Unfortunately, individuals using these services are not supported with mature tools, technologies, training, regulations, laws and privacy culture to prevent unnecessary information disclosure, digital footprints and malicious use of information. Based on these challenges, we will develop foundations, approaches and architecture for user-centric privacy preservation in smart spaces.
Solutions include smart space services (smart meters, smart phones, smart homes and offices) and user-centric services.
