ABSTRACT:

Taking a look at the current digital entertaining market and considering the predictions for further growth within the mobile games sector, understanding driving factors to create a full player experience is crucial. Based on the concept of Gaming Quality of Experience (Möller, Schmidt, & Beyer, 2012), further understanding of influencing factors for gaming in a mobile context is the objective of this study. Display size is the varied factor for investigation in interaction with different games and settings. The hypotheses were tested with an empirical test (within design) and analyzed based on the linear model multivariate analysis of variances. The outcomes present a clear effect of display size on the perceived gaming quality and further effects of interactions in game complexity with display size of the mobile devices.
