The information used by context-aware systems is usually incomplete and imperfect in practice. When the quality of context information is rather poor, it may not be used at all. This talk presents a novel approach of modeling context information based on the user's needs at application level. A method of measuring the quality of context information with two factors - Raw Information Quality and Cover Rate - is proposed. This quality of context measure has been evaluated using an experimental business trip record application with a contextual sidebar. The results suggest that Raw Information Quality influences task execution time while Cover Rate influences result accuracy and user's mental effort.
