Movement Profile Analysis and Mobility Modeling

LOCATION: Auditorium 1, TEL, Ernst-Reuter-Platz 7, 20th floor

Date/Time: 01.02.2016, 18:00-18:45

SPEAKER: Christopher Vahldieck (TU Berlin)

ABSTRACT:

Increasing popularity and utilization of mobile devices, permanently recording location data, enable a wide array of new possibilities in the field of movement profile analysis. However, the aim of every analysis should be to provide benefit to users, not to leave them in the feeling of being traced or analyzed.

This talk provides solutions to the challenges evolving from analysis of movement profiles, presents an efficient step-by-step approach for the analysis process and furthermore, introduces a straightforward technique to forecast future movements of individual users.

Ultimately, this enables software to provide more useful suggestions with less need for user interaction.
