From Gaming Experiences to Travel Experiences

LOCATION: Auditorium 2, TEL, Ernst-Reuter-Platz 7, 20th floor

Date/Time: 02.05.2016, 14:15-15:00

SPEAKER: Eduardo Calvillo (Apps for Gaps)

In this talk I’ll present a review of the Core Elements of the Gaming Experience (CEGE) and of an Embodied view of Flow. The CEGE are the necessary but not sufficient conditions to provide a positive gaming experience. I will discuss how they were formulated, as well as future research questions on the face of current mobile games. In an Embodied view of Flow, I will present a theoretical discussion on the concept of Flow, grounded on phenomenology and embodied interaction. Finally, I will present research questions that I would like to address on travel experiences and mobile app development.
