Measuring System Response Delay for Touchscreen Devices
LOCATION: Auditorium 2, TEL, Ernst-Reuter-Platz 7, 20th floor
Date/Time: 23.05.2016, 14:15-15:00
SPEAKER: Paul Grau (TU Berlin)
ABSTRACT:
This talk presents an instrument to measure Feedback Delay, the total time between a user initiating an interaction and perceiving a system’s response.
This is an important measure in evaluating the quality of multi-modal systems. As user interaction processes are getting more complex, the actual time the user waits for feedback consists of an increasing number of unknown or hard to measure variables. An approach to measure this delay using external, easy to use hardware will be shown and discussed, including methods for electronically triggering inputs on touch screens and detecting the resulting feedback.
