We use speech to interact with computers in our everyday life since many years. Speech interaction gained even more popularity in recent years through advanced speech computers in the likes of Apple Siri and Google Now. But still researchers know little about when users choose speech interaction over classical, haptic interaction methods. As the Quality and Usability Lab at TU Berlin will host the Interspeech 2015 we use this event as an occasion to develop an open conference app solution for smart phones. Conference organizers can use this app as a drop-in digital conference program. Researchers may extend the app with advanced speech technologies and logging facilities for future conferences to gain insights in users’ preferences for certain interaction methods.
