LOCATION: Auditorium 1, TEL, Ernst-Reuter-Platz 7, 20th floor
Date/Time: 01.09.2014, 14:00-15:00
SPEAKER: Junaid Shaikh (T-Labs / AIPA)
In this talk, I will present insights from experiments conducted for the assessment of Web browsing QoE. First, I will present findings from the subjective tests, which were conducted in lab to assess impact of waiting times on user feedback, from the task-based sessions down to the individual object requests. Second, I will discuss about the indicators of Web QoE from the perspectives of active and passive monitoring on IP networks. Finally, I will present a set of results obtained from the qualitative and quantitative measurements performed for the assessment of Web QoE indicators.
Junaid is a research scientist at Assessment of IP-based Application (AIPA) group of Telekom Innovation Labs (T-Labs) and Technical University Berlin. His main research interests include measurement and modeling of network and application performance. He has been working on the impact assessment of network and application performance on Quality of Experience. Currently, his main focus is to develop and implement probes for Web service quality monitoring on networks.
Prior to joining T-Labs, he was a Ph.D. student of Telecommunication Systems at Blekinge Institute of Technology Sweden, where he worked in collaboration with Orange Labs France from 2009 to 2014. He did his M.Sc. Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Internet Systems from Blekinge Institute of Technology Sweden and Bachelors in Computer Engineering from Bahria University Pakistan.
