ABSTRACT:
Shoulder surfing has traditionally been a hard to defeat challenge when it comes to securing authentication. By incorporating eye-tacking technology conventional shoulder surfing is not possible anymore. However, an attacker using a second eye-tracker or a key-logging device is able to reconstruct the entered pass phrases due to the static positioning of objects in the graphical interface of the authentication system. For this reason, we have built two versions of an authentication system to examine the impact on usability measures caused by guarding against the previously mentioned attack scenario.
