User Experience Quantification

Motivation & Project Description
User Experience and Usability are two key terms in the discipline of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In contrast to Usability, User Experience is a relatively new research area. Currrently it is undisputable that the classical, functional-oriented criteria of Usability - defined in the the ISO standard 9241 - are not sufficient to explain the actual usage or non-usage of a device or service. Although User Experience is by now a common expression amongst HCI-researchers, it is unclear how to operationalize User Experience and how measurement methods and evaluation techniques have to be designed. The current project aims to answer these questions.

Expected Outcome

Research results for research results

The new measuring methods are introduced to the evaluation of services and devices developed at Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, too.
