Biography
Vladan Velisavljevic; was born in Šabac, Serbia, in 1974. He received B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Belgrade, Serbia, in 1998 and 2000, respectively and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2005. From 1995 to 1998, he was awarded the Fellowship Grant from Telekom Srbija. From October 1999 to October 2000, he was a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Telecommunications, School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, and from August 2001 to October 2005, he was a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Audiovisual Communications Laboratory, EPFL. From October 2000 to July 2001, he was attending the Pre-doctoral School at EPFL, where he was awarded as the best student in class. In 2003, he was at an internship at the Communications and Signal Processing Group, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Imperial College, London. He has served on the Technical Program Committee as a reviewer of the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP2004, ICIP2005), the IEEE & ACM International Conference on Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN2005), the IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP2004, ICASSP2005). He has also been reviewer for (among others) the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology and Applied Computational and Harmonic Analysis. Since January 2006, he has been Senior Researcher at Deutsche Telekom Laboratories, Berlin, Germany.
